You can browse the verbs here. Choose the verb from the list to see the information about it.
There are two types of verb-lists (you can switch between them by clicking at their names):
• Two Groups Split - verbs can be split into two lists, one can freely move (drag) verbs between these lists. This is primarily intended to keep unknown verbs in first list and move the "learned" verbs to the second list.
• Multiple Groups - list on the left-side holds all verbs from the database; you can define
many lists that are presented on the right-side and can be changed using the pop-up menu.
Assume that you want to define a list with verbs with (present tense) suffix "-esz" then you should:
1. Press New Group button.
2. Enter the name (for instance "-esz") and press OK.
3. Now you can drag manually verbs from the left list to the "-esz" list.
Unlike in the "Two Groups Split" the verbs which you drag to the right-side list are not removed from the left-side list. You can define as many lists as you wish this way. This is intended to keep the verbs that meet certain criteria together. To remove a verb from the right-side list just drag it back to left side list. To remove the whole group just press the Delete button. Lists can be chosen by using the pop-up menu Group name.
Note: If you remove a verb from the DB then it is removed from the lists after you re-open the main browse window, but it will remain in your custom lists. If you click this verb no information will be displayed.
In the box at the right bottom of window you can type your comments about each verb. Comments are stored in a disk automatically. You can use styled (multiple fonts) text in the comment box (Font, Size and Style menu items are available from the Edit menu). The find feature is accessible at left top of the window. You should click the button (right to find box) to switch between the English and the foreign language modes (i.e. to look for foreign language verb or for its English translation). To find a word you should type the beginning of it in the text box (in upper-left corner of window) and press the return key (or click "Find:" text).

Recording Sounds.
You can record sounds and assign them to the given verb. There are several options here. You can record sound as tentative or as pattern.
To record sound as pattern you should press the P Rec. button. This mode is intended to save the model sounds that you want to preserve. To remove pattern sound just click P Clr button.
To record sound as tentative just click Rec. button. It will be appended to the pattern sound (if it exists). To delete the tentative sound (but preserve the pattern sound) just click Clear button. The tentative sound is intended to store your speaking exercises and compare it to the pattern sound. You can record tentative sounds in one of two modes:
• incremental - the newly recorded sound is appended to the previously recorded sounds. To erase sounds click Clear button,
• replace - the old tentative sound is automatically erased after recording the new one.
To change the mode you have to open the Preferences window (from DB menu).
Play - plays the sound associated with selected verb (double clicking on verb have the same effect)
Play All - plays all sounds associated with verbs from chosen group. To interrupt it you should press the command period keys.
Exercises Window

Program presents you with the verb in the infinitive. You have to choose the T/M combination that you want to practice and fill boxes with the proper forms of verb. If you make an error then after pressing the check button all wrongly filled boxes are filled with the red ink and the STOP sign appears.
You can choose from the pop-up menu the group of verbs that you want to use to generate exercises. These groups you can define in the Multiple Group option in the main verb-list window.
There are also 4 predefined groups:
• Whole Database.
• Group 1 - this is the right side list from the Two Groups Split.
• Group 2 - this is the left side list from the Two Groups Split.
• Not Learned - list of verbs that you incorrectly inflected previously.
The list of name "Not Learned" is predefined and automatically handled by the program.
Program puts verbs that you incorrectly inflected in an exercise session into this list. This is convenient to see verbs which are not correctly learned or to generate exercise with these verbs. All exercises are logged and the results can be viewed in the Exercise Log Window (you can open it from the File menu).
Adding and Changing Verbs

Show Next - to edit the next verb from the database,
Add/Change - to accept changes and add/change verb to/in the database,
Remove - to remove verb from the database,
New - to clear window to allow you entering a new verb specification.
To define a verb you have to enter:
• the infinitive,
• check the relevant check boxes and the "perfective" pop-up menu,
• enter the verb meaning,
if the verb is regular (Regular? check box is checked) then:
• choose the correct Subpat. from the pop-up menu (for the definitions of sub patterns see the Rules Generator window),
• fill the box Theme 1 and (if needed) the box Theme 2 (for the explanation of theme boxes see Rules in previous chapter),
if the verb is irregular (Regular? check box is unchecked) then:
• enter the entire paradigm in the proper boxes for all available T/M choices.
After entering this information you should press Add/Change button to enter the newly defined verb to the database. Also if you make changes in any of the boxes and you want to remember these changes do not forget to press Add/Change button.
Appending Other Database
You can easily append to your database other database that has been prepared by someone else. Choose Add DB... from the File menu to perform this operation. The new verbs from the foreign database will be added. The databses should have the same signatures to perform this operation.
You have several options of updating:
Make Changes in Inflection of Existing Verbs?
Choose this option if you want to correct the potential errors in your existing inflection patterns.
Merge Foreign DB Comments with My Comments?
Use this option if you want to add comments to your DB. Your comments will be preserved.
Merge Foreign DB Sound with My Sound?
The sounds will be appended as pattern sounds.
Important note: There are two files associated with a single database - the main file and the keys file - you need both of them in the same folder (but you point only to main file) to append the database.
Opening Verbs DB
You can open an arbitrary verbs DB file by choosing Open DB... option from the File menu. The newly opened database becomes the default database file.
Backup
Unexpected crash of your Mac can damage the verbs database. Having a backup copy of the Data folder is strongly recommended.
